12 Hours. One Club. One Community. One Important Cause – Breast Cancer Ireland.

Dunmore Badminton Club is taking on a very special challenge — a 12-hour non-stop Badminton Marathon — to raise vital funds for Breast Cancer Ireland.

On Saturday 17th October 2026 from 9am – 9pm, members and friends of Dunmore Badminton Club will come together at St Thomas Church, Brasscock, Dunmore Road, Waterford, X91 KN56, to keep the shuttlecock flying for 12 hours continuously!

We are setting ourselves a fundraising target of €1,500, and we would love your help to reach — and hopefully exceed — this goal.

Why are we doing it?

Breast cancer has touched the lives of so many families and communities. Whether through a friend, family member, teammate, colleague or someone we know, most of us have been affected by breast cancer in some way.

We wanted to do something positive as a club — bringing together our love of badminton, our fantastic club community and a cause that means so much to so many people.

For 12 hours, our members will play badminton non-stop, taking part in fun games, challenges and competitions along the way. It will be physically demanding, a little crazy, and hopefully a whole lot of fun!

But every rally, every game and every tired pair of legs will be for a very important reason — to raise funds for Breast Cancer Ireland.

Our target is €1,500, but with the support of our amazing community, we're hoping we can smash that target!

Dunmore Badminton Club is proud to be taking part in this challenge and to use our club as a way of bringing people together for something bigger than badminton.

So, on the day, while we are playing, laughing, competing and probably wondering whose idea this was after hour eight(!), we will know that every rally is helping us raise money for Breast Cancer Ireland.
