Small School, Big Dreams: Help Us Get to D.C.

Hi! My name is Leila, and I’m a senior and the president of the National Honor Society at our school. Our school is an extremely small school in Texas. We have 4 grade levels attending a single school with a school population of about 280 students. Because we’re such a small campus, we don’t always have the same opportunities or funding as bigger schools, but we don't want that to stop us from working hard to make an impact. This year, our NHS chapter has the amazing chance to attend the NHS LEAD Conference in Washington, D.C., from February 27 to March 1, 2026. It’s a national event where students like us can meet leaders from across the country, take part in workshops, and hear from inspiring speakers who can help us grow as leaders and bring new ideas back to our school and community.

The only problem is that the cost of the trip is high, and for a small school like ours, it’s a big challenge. Between registration, travel, hotels, and meals, it adds up quickly, especially when we want every student who qualifies to be able to attend, no matter their financial situation. That’s why I’m starting this GoFundMe. We’re hoping to raise enough to make this opportunity possible for all of us.

Your donation, no matter the size, will help give our students the same chance to learn, connect, and grow that students from bigger, better-funded schools have. Even just sharing this page with others can make a huge difference. Thank you so much for supporting us and believing in what our little NHS chapter can do!

All donations will go directly to Mrs. Carroll, who is leading and chaperoning our group on the trip to Washington, D.C. for the LEAD Conference.

Mrs. Carroll has been an incredible supporter of our students, helping us problem-solve, rebuild our NHS chapter and student council, and create opportunities for leadership growth. This trip would not be possible without her dedication, guidance, and commitment to student success.

We are grateful for her leadership and for the generosity of our community in making this experience a reality.
