Small No-Kill Shelter Needs New Building

- Kind Keeper Animal Rescue is a small, no-kill, nonprofit organization in North Myrtle Beach, SC. We currently use leased space which we have outgrown due to the number of animals that pass through our doors. For example, in 2016 we had 100 adoptions...fast forward to 2020 and we had over 1000 live outcomes. 2021 numbers show we are on track for another year of over 1000 live outcomes.
- In 2021 we were able to purchase 10 acres of farm land that is only 15 minutes from our current location.
- This is an artist rendering of the new building for our land- Builders tell us it will cost close to $3 million dollars to build this new facility.
- Our current building is small and crowded.
- Our kennels do not have drains in the floors or openings to private runs. Animals must walk through the small hallways to go outside to common fenced areas.
- We take in abandoned and stray animals, as well as owner surrenders. We also take animals from several of the surrounding county shelters to free up space for them when they are reaching "time limits" and will need to euthanize animals. We take in pregnant mommas and their babies. We take animals that are sick and injured - and we provide the necessary veterinary care for them.
