Small family devasted by Taree Floods 2025

Many families and homes were devastated by the flash flooding across The Manning Shire of Australia earlier this week.
My name is Jo and sadly, my sister's home was no exception.
Locate in Tasmania and unable to travel, I feel helpless as I hear the heartbreak unfold on the mainland.
With a warm heart she purchased her house almost 17 years ago as it held sentimental connections to her late father and baby girl she had lost during childbirth.
Devoting her time as a carer for her other daughter and grandson, this home has been their safe haven for almost two decades. Before the floods, unforeseen circumstances forced this small family to pick which core expenses they would allocate funds to. This meant insurance repayments were out of their reach, and the family held hope they would survive the short time it would take to get back on their feet - This was not the case.
With the rapid speed the flood waters rose, the family was unable to retrieve any personal belongs before getting themselves and their pets to safety.
Luckily everyone is safe but shattered with the destruction of their family home and majority of their contents within. Returning home the family has worked through the wreckage and had to part ways with virtually everything.
My heart goes to all that have lost during this disastrous time.
I hope this page brings support to my sister as she and her family begin the challenging time of rebuilding their world.
