Small Business Devastated by Fire Caused by El Paso Electric
Donation protected
On November 10, around 9 PM, a devastating fire broke out at Grace Trading, a local business in downtown El Paso. What makes this fire particularly tragic is that it was caused by an issue with the power lines, which were owned and maintained by El Paso Electric Company. The fire quickly spread, engulfing an entire storage unit and parking lot. The damage has been catastrophic, leaving our business in ruins and putting the livelihoods of our employees and their families at risk.
This fire was not just an accident; it’s a direct result of a failure on the part of the city's utility company. Despite our best efforts to operate and serve the community, this tragedy has disrupted our ability to continue doing so. Our equipment, inventory, and vital business materials were all destroyed. The emotional and financial toll on our family and employees has been overwhelming, especially as we approach the holiday season, a critical time for our business.
We are a small, family-owned business, and like many in our community, we depend on the income generated during the holidays to carry us through the year. The impact of this fire has not only wiped out years of hard work but has jeopardized the future of our business. We are struggling to recover, facing mounting repair costs, insurance issues, and the challenge of maintaining our team through these uncertain times.
We’re reaching out to our friends, customers, and community for support. Any donation, no matter the size, will help us get back on our feet and rebuild what we’ve lost. Our employees are also facing significant hardships as many of them rely on this job to support their families, and the uncertainty surrounding our business’s future is weighing heavily on everyone.
We are also asking for your help in raising awareness. We have been in contact with local news outlets to share our story and ensure that this issue, which affects more than just our business, is heard. Please consider sharing this campaign with your friends and family, and help us keep the conversation going with local media. Together, we can hold those responsible accountable and work toward a solution that prevents this kind of devastation in the future.
Thank you for your support, your generosity, and for helping us through this incredibly difficult time.
