I am a manager for a small business with fewer than 50 employees. I, along with the company owners, do our best to encourage and value our employees, we try to promote camaraderie, and try to support one another in times of need. We are "small" enough to still feel like a family, yet large enough to usually support each other during times of need.

One of our staff recently suffered a house fire and, due to the combination of direct and indirect fire and smoke damage and the damage from the water used to extinguish the fire, has lost pretty much EVERYTHING but the clothes they were wearing at the time. The one silver lining is that both their human and kitty family are all okay. The staff member in question does have multiple burns on their arms and face, though...

As of now they are essentially homeless, as the building has been condemned. They also lack the means to address the repair/replacement of the structure, kitchen, and smoke-damaged possessions. Every penny raised will go to helping them get back on their feet.
