They were new to our venue and audience. The room was half full...but so full of joy. They were amazing. They are just an example of the many gems that come through here that are not well known, but should be.

Bringing great music to a small out of the way venue is a challenge, and sometimes the greatest acts are the hardest to sell, however deserved. It has always been our mission to bring all kinds of music here…not just the famous acts. 19 years of music and we still love what we do. 2026 will mark 2 decades of SMAC! It is hard to believe, and we feel like we have not even scratched the surface of what we want to do.

As always one of the many things we do here is bring you new music that you may not have heard of before. But that can be a challenge. Great acts that those lucky enough to see them always ask us to bring them back! But that is a tall order if they only fill half of the room.Below is a list of just a few of the shows that sold that way last season. You can imagine how it can put a strain on us and our staff.

This season alone, super amazing acts like:

Nefesh Mountain Band, Stephen Kellogg, Mary Frances Leahy, The Steel Wheels with Jack Broadbent, Kris Delmhorst & Jeffrey Foucault, Twisted Pine, Alison Brown, Lonesome Ace Stringband, Cecilia, Harry Manx, The Clement Brothers, The Suitcase Junket, Ellis Paul, Erica Brown and the Bluegrass Connection, Mike Farris, Maia Sharp & Willy Porter, Darrell Scott, Eileen Ivers & The Brigideens, Darin & Brooke Aldridge, The Rough and Tumble, Freddy and Francine..just to name just a few

And there are too many to mention each year. But we of course didn't t bring this music hall up to the willy wags just to book the Lyle Lovetts and the Bela Flecks. They are awesome, but all music deserves a chance to be heard, presented, and paid and we want to continue to do that.

So, this Go Fund Me will support this past season of shows that might have dipped into our reserves a little more than usual, and shows to come that might not be so well attended, but will be so full of joy and wow, what a gift to be able to hear new music...not on your phone!! LIVE In person. When you support this effort you support SMAC, musicians, and the staff that makes it all possible. And we thank you from the bottom of our musical hearts
