New Lungs For Peyton
Donation protected
My name is Stacy. Peyton's mother, Brandie, is my oldest and dearest friend....since we were toddlers to be exact!!! Brandie has given me so much emotional support though many tough times in my life. Now she needs help. Brandie is not one to ask for ANYTHING, so I am setting this account up to help cover expenses for Peyton's lung transplant and the care leading up to, and follwing the procedure.
Peyton was born in July 2001 and diagnosed shortly after with Cystic Fibrosis. Although Brandie was young and struggling, she gave every ounce of herself to take care of her precious son. She adored her sweet baby and was commited to making sure that he got the proper care he needed to stay healthy. I have to admit (and of course, I am NOT partial one bit) that he was the most beautiful baby boy I had ever seen. He did not look sick, but he was. He needed a lot of medicine, treatments, and care to keep him healthy. Brandie has always stepped up and taken his care into her own hands, She reads everything she can, stays informed, and pushes the doctors when she feels like there are other options. She is an amazing, strong, and selfless mother.
As Peyton began to grow and develop his own personality he became an affectionate and sweet little boy. ALWAYS thinking about other people and their feelings...even as a toddler and a small child. He definitely got his mother's caring heart. Everyone that has ever been around him, has fallen in love with him on the spot!
When Peyton was 3 years old, Brandie met and married Todd. He loved and accepted Peyton as his very own and took the challenge of CF with an open heart. They both were blessed when God sent Todd to them. And I am sure he feels the same way. In 2009, their little firecracker, Zoie, was born and added so much love and excitment to the mix.
Peyton is now a teenager, 14 years old. It seems like just yesterday I saw him for the first time and kissed that sweet little head. He was such a silly little todder with lots of life, and he loved to snuggle and watch movies with me when he was little. I miss those days, but I am so proud of the young man he has become. He has struggled so much in so many areas, but still has his sweet and gentle nature. He is thoughtful and loves others and loves the Lord.
This year, Peyton had had 7 hospital stays. He just could not seem to stay healthy very long. The decison has been made to go forward with a lung transplant. First, he will be evalulated at UMC, and they will decide where the transplant will take place. Then, they must go though more evaulations based on phyiscal, emotional, and mental states. Also, financial evaluations are going to be done..to make sure they can pay for the transplant. I have no idea what a transplant costs, but I am sure that the 40% left over after the insurance pays their parts is beyond my comprehension. That is why I am setting up this account. In additon to the medical costs, Brandie and Peyton will live near the hospital, while Todd and Zoie will stay in Mississippi. There will be a lot of travel expenses for them to be able to spend time together. This time will be so emtional and financially straining on them as a family; as well as physically on Peyton. I am just asking that you give from your heart. My wish is for them to be able to go through this with only the worry of Peyton's health.
