Help Save Riley
Riley my spunky, lovey and sweet girl became sick around December 29th– she wouldn’t eat and had thrown up a few times, but she was drinking water and moving around with no problem. So we thought maybe her tummy just hurt.
Fast forward to now. We took her to the emergency hospital on the night of the 31st because her symptoms worsened. She no longer was moving around or drinking water. The vet ran some blood tests and performed an x-ray on her and found that the reasoning behind her being so sick was a foreign body bowl obstruction (she ate something she shouldn’t have). After informing me of her findings she also told me Riley will not be able to pass whatever it is she ate– meaning surgery is her best option for survival.
Riley is only 6 and normally a very healthy girl. I have exhausted all of my options trying to get this taken care of and this is the only one I have left. It is extremely cliche, but this dog means the absolute world to me. She’s my first dog I got as an adult and I have had her since she was 5 weeks old. She has been with me through all of my good times and times where I wasn’t sure how things were going to go for me.
If Riley doesn’t have this surgery I will be forced to have to make the decision no pet owner wants to make and that’s to have her put down. She’s not ready, it’s not her time– she has more life to live and squirrels to chase. The only thing holding her back unfortunately is the funds. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated in every way possible. My heart is hurting at the fact that my dog is so sick and my pride hurts a little as well having to ask for help, but her and I really need it right about now.
