Help a Disabled Veteran Recover from Cancer, Car Accident & Major Surgery

U.S. Army Veteran • Cancer Survivor • Crash Victim • Grandfather in Need
My name is William, and I'm a 61-year-old disabled Army veteran trying to survive a storm of life-altering medical and personal challenges. From battling multiple cancers to surviving a devastating car accident, I’ve endured unimaginable pain but I’m still fighting, and now I need your help.

My Story: A Nightmare No One Should Live Through
In the past two years alone:

  • I’ve faced 4 separate cancer diagnoses, including a severe throat and neck cancer that was missed due to medical negligence.

  • I underwent a 13-hour neck reconstruction surgery, where muscle from my left leg was used to rebuild my throat.

  • I battled kidney cancer, leading to the full removal of one kidney.

  • I was hit by a car, just months after surgery, causing a broken collarbone that still hasn’t healed.

  • I’ve had shoulder surgery and now suffer from limited arm mobility.

  • Most recently, I’ve been hospitalized due to a serious G-tube infection.

  • Through all of this, I’ve remained strong but my fixed income as a disabled veteran is no longer enough to cover the growing hospital bills, physical therapy, and rehabilitation care I so desperately need.

Why I’m Asking for Help

  • I’m launching this GoFundMe for hospital bills and cancer recovery to raise emergency support for:

  • Urgent medical bills and follow-up surgeries

  • Physical therapy and rehabilitation services

  • Mobility support equipment

  • Daily transportation and in-home care

  • Basic living expenses for a veteran on a fixed income

Life Before This: A Coach, Athlete, and Mentor
Before all of this, I was an avid scratch golfer, football coach, baseball coach, and sports broadcaster. I mentored young athletes and took pride in being active in my community. But now, I struggle to walk, can't lift my arm properly, and live in constant pain. The broken collarbone from the car accident and throat reconstruction have made everyday life extremely difficult.

I’ve gone from swinging golf clubs to holding onto hospital railings. My goal is to rebuild my strength, my independence—and hopefully, get back to inspiring others again.

Support a Veteran Who’s Lost Everything but Not His Hope
I'm not just a cancer survivor, I'm a fighter but I can't do it alone anymore. Whether you can give $5, $50, or simply share this story, your support matters.

This GoFundMe for a disabled veteran hit by a car and recovering from cancer is my lifeline. Your donation will help cover my ongoing medical treatments, rehabilitation, and recovery process.

From the Heart
Coming out of sedation after the 13-hour neck surgery was the most excruciating pain I’ve ever felt. I didn’t sleep for 3 days. My body was torn apart to keep me alive my neck rebuilt, my leg stapled with 87 stitches. And now, I fight daily to heal.

If you can, please donate or share this campaign. You are part of my fight now, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
