Cloe . Lane Equestrian - In memory of Slug

Hi, my names Cloe, owner of Cloe . Lane Equestrian.
Just over 1 year ago the most beautiful, humongous stray Tom walked into my life turning up each day for food and helping himself into my house. He was un-neutered, not chipped, skinny with a scabby nose and overall not in great condition but, to me he was beautiful. I named him Slug. We took him in and gave him a warm home with a full belly, got him neutered, chipped, vaccinated, his own collar and soon enough he was the most cuddly, loveable cat ever. He just wanted to be close to us all the time. He loved being the little spoon in bed!

Last month on the 4th June, Slug suddenly took a turn for the worst. We rushed him to the emergency vets to be informed he had a tumour in his tummy, enlarged kidney and going into heart failure. No signs up until this day. We believe this may be due to strays learning to hide any problems they may have. We had him pts there and then. My partner and I were and still are heartbroken.

Im holding this fundraiser in Slugs’ memory. We was so lucky Slug found us to give him love and a home for just over a year. As much as this was no-where near long enough so many strays go their whole life walking these streets hungry, cold and scared with no-where to go. This was Slug, until he found us. It breaks my heart to know this was his life before.

Cat patrol do a fantastic job at finding/capturing strays, doing their best brining them back to health giving them a second chance. If it wasn’t for cat patrol I wouldn’t have been able to have caught Slug!
Animal Cancer Trust is my second chosen charity. Slugs diagnosis happened very quick and there was nothing we could do. However, the thought of a charity out there helping to support pets and their family going through this tough time, helping to keep pets comfortable throughout their diagnosis means an awful lot to me. Researching more into this awful disease to hopefully give us more answers for the future and help more animals.

100% of all proceeds will be split equally between these two amazing charities

Alongside donations, I will be using my Cloe . Lane Equestrian platform to hold an event on Saturday 5th June running a clear round showjumping day

It would mean would the absolute world to me to fundraise enough money to really help these charities to help our fur babies!
So let’s help!
