Sloth Hill Animal Sanctuary

Sloth Hill Animal Sanctuary Inc is a fully registered not-for-profit charity, located in the Coal Valley region of Southern Tasmania. We receive no government assistance. Instead, the Sanctuary itself is fully self funded, surviving on donations alone.

As the need for animals requiring assistance increases, so too does our growth and expansion within the community - but we cannot do this alone.

Through education and advocacy, we aim to promote compassion and a deeper level of understanding of all animals. We help in finding adoptive homes for the mistreated, abandoned and homeless, as well as raising orphaned / injured Tasmanian wildlife. We also accommodate animals with disabilities, and do not discriminate against any species. Here at the Sanctuary, animals are free to live out their lives in a safe, healthy and stimulating environment - thus alleviating the need for unnecessary euthanasia.

Sloth Hill is currently upgrading its on site animal facilities, including - species specific enclosures, shelters, and storage receptacles for both fodder and equipment. Most recently, we have commenced by renting a container from a supportive local business at Crooked Billet Drive, Bridgewater - "Tassie Containers" - and had it transported to the Sanctuary. With it quickly filling however, we do not envisage 'never' needing it! Instead, "Tassie Containers" have agreed to offer it to us on a permanent basis, and at a heavily discounted rate. Opportunities like this are too good to pass on, so this is partly why we are asking for your assistance.

Moving forward, there will be plentiful opportunities for volunteering here at the Sanctuary, whilst learning more about animals, and providing a place of solace for like minded people. We would be very thankful for any assistance, no matter how small or insignificant you may think it might be. The animals will be forever grateful, with 100% of all funds, going directly to them.
