A break-in. A mistake. The wrong house. Sliver is a chilling psychological thriller where the predator becomes the prey—and no one gets out clean. Help us bring this story to life.
Hi! my name is Tiffany Canseco, and I’m an independent filmmaker bringing my original short film Sliver to life-a dark, twisted psychological thriller that explores fear, power, and the monsters we choose to love. Born from a creative exercise, I had an hour to write a ten minute play set in one space with just a few actors and choice props. It’s a story designed to unsettle and captivate, and at its core Sliver follows a seemingly simple home break-in that spirals into something far more dangerous and disturbing. What starts as a desperate act of survival becomes a chilling game of control, manipulation, and terror. This film is deeply important to me as both a writer and creator. It represents my voice as a storyteller, my passion for psychological thrillers, and my commitment to creating captivating dialogue and bold characters.
What Makes SLIVER Different: This isn’t just a horror story—it’s a character-driven psychological experience. The tension-filled, single-location story explores themes of fear, control, and moral ambiguity, with a shocking tone shift that flips expectations on their head. If you love films like Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, or You (Netflix), then Sliver is for you.
To bring Sliver to life at the level myself and Co-Director Alex Arredondo want to, we need your help. Funds will cover production costs, location and set design, post-production, festival submissions, and food for the cast and crew. Every dollar helps create an immersive world, achieve a professional finish, and share Sliver with audiences anywhere we can.
Creating Sliver is a passion project that precursors a larger short and universe that I want to make with the help of our amazing film community. If you believe in storytelling and want to be part of something fun, meaningful, and exciting, please consider donating and sharing this campaign. Thank you for supporting independent film.
