Hello everyone, this is Matthew. Jared is my best friend and a gem of a human, the kind of guy that makes everyone feel special. As some of you have seen on his Instagram stories, he has recently experienced a medical emergency.
A couple of weeks ago, he slipped on some snow-covered ice and broke his tibia and fibula in three places. And in a split second, everything pretty much changed for him.
He had to undergo surgery to permanently affix a metal rod to his joints. Yes, he is on his way to becoming one of his cyborg creations, but the recovery process has been a painful one.
Jared has spent the last few years proudly building his career as a full-time artist. He makes the majority of his income through on-site murals, on his feet all day. Now he has been rendered unable to work on any new pieces for a still-unknown amount of time.
With no family to call upon for help and no insurance through work, I felt compelled to do what I could and ask his friends and his communities for support.
Anything you can contribute would be amazing and will help cover the costs of physio, groceries, living expenses, transportation to doctors, and medical assistance over the next few months.
