Slim is a lively and curious rescue pup. He is a year and a half and has enjoyed his life with his new owner for over a year now. He was adopted from wesavedapuppy.org- a rescue organization that saved him from a not so bright future is Tijuana, Mexico.

On Friday, Slim and his brother were on a hike in San Diego and had an unfortunate encounter with a very angry rattle snake. Slim, being curious and protective of his human companion, tried to fight the snake that was coming at them. He got bit in his face.

A very long and gruesome wait at the emergency vet left his owner no choice but to agree to a $1400 deposit for one round of anti venom treatment. And this is just the beginning of outrageous medical costs and endless hours waiting in the emergency vet. A non emergency clinic denied him care on multiple occasions, deferring him to a triple cost clinic.

Slimmy still needs another round of blood work and possibly another anti venom treatment. Our estimated vet costs will be over $3k.
