‘In This Together’
COMMUNITY CARE JOURNEY AROUND IRELAND CHALLENGE
The spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is a new and challenging live event. Everyone’s lives and daily routines are affected by the measures that have been introduced to disrupt the spread of the virus, and keep us all safe. All our jobs have changed in the last 6 weeks. We are missing routines, our roles, and our clients.
For the month of May, HSE staff from Primary and Community Care in Sligo/Leitrim/West Cavan are going to take a virtual journey around the periphery of Ireland while staying within the 2km distance of their own home. The distance is 1707km approx and we may take a few detours along the way.
The group of frontline workers taking part include many members of our multidisciplinary teams including Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and many more.
The goal of this challenge is to keep us well physically and more importantly mind our mental health through daily movement and TO HAVE FUN.
We we are setting up a ‘Go Fund Me’ page for three wonderful local charities, who’s funding has been gravely effected by the COVID-19 pandemic. These are:
-North West Hospice
-North West STOP Suicide Prevention
-Domestic Violence Advocacy Group Sligo/ Leitrim
These local charities provide support to the most vulnerable in our community and funds and donations have been gravely effected since the start of this pandemic. We must work together in order to support the people who need it most. So, GET INVOLVED, DONATE and more importantly, HAVE FUN!
Why not get involved? Track your weekly activities, and send them into us!
Have fun and get active! #bettertogether
