Ingrid Moore, Averil Hannon, Aoife Reilly and Kieran Shortall all with the support of others are embarking on a 72-kilometer hike across the Slieve Bloom on Thursday, the 20th of June.
With a collective spirit and mutual support, they aim to complete the hike within the day, setting off at 7am, the Quartet plan to cover Clonaslee, Glenbarrow, Monicknew, Kinnity Forest, Cadamstown to reach finishing point back at Clonaslee before nightfall.

The walkers are raising funds for the Cara Curley Fund

Cara Curley is the beloved daughter of Eamon and Yvonne Curley.
On the 31st of December 2013 Cara aged 8 years passed away after a brave battle with leukaemia.
Cara was a young girl with strength and wisdom beyond her years, a wonderful character with an endearing sense of humour.

The Cara Curley Fund was established to financially support families who are affected by serious illness. The Cara Curley Fund is a not-for-profit charitable foundation established to support fundraising to provide financial assistance to families with serious illness. The Charity receives no state funding whatsoever and relies entirely on fundraisers and donations.
The charity works to reduce any added financial stress a family is faced with when they are already struggling to cope with the devastation and trauma of a serious illness.

Since 2023 we have donated €28, 000 to 14 different recipients. All of the money received is given back out into the community by way of donations to families.

Any donations received will mean that we can support many more families this year and it is very much appreciated.
