Makers' club is a STEM oriented club. Our goal is to be able to compete in large national robotics competitions, as well as other projects such as ornithopters and model rockets. We want to promote an environment where students across all ethnicities, and genders have an outlet for their engineering creativity, especially those who are beginners in the field. Recently, we've won first place in Pioneers in Engineering at UC Berkeley-allowing us to gain fundamental experience and skills within engineering facets. We were featured on Kron 4 and our school district's media press release for our win. We want to honor Mr. Nava, who was our mentor and recently passed away, by competing in larger robotics competitions such as FIRST Robotics Challenge, FIRST Tech Challenge, and Vex Robotics. This funding would go directly towards purchasing materials for the development of competition winning robots.
