Hi, my name is Lorraine and I run Islay Dog Rescue. We are based in Cumnock, Ayrshire.

Islay Dog Rescue are dedicated to saving the lives of dogs on death row. Since 2011 they have successfully rehomed around 1,500 dogs. Around 5 years ago we completed a new kennel block which houses 12 dogs.

However, the demand for rescue is growing. We have an area which was 2 stables. If we demolish them we can build 4 new kennels.

Therefore, we can save the lives of more dogs - it is that simple.

On 21st June 2025, several of our supporters will be sleeping overnight in the kennels with one of the dogs - who will enjoy it more - the dogs or the people?

Attached are pictures which show you the current area of old stables and our (hopefully) projected new kennel build. As you will see the new kennels will cost £7,370 but that's without a concrete base etc. We have set a target of £10,000.
