Hello all!
You might know me from events like Serving Kent, Slay Bells, A Folke'in Drag Contest, or even as a casual Pridegoer. Since moving back to my hometown a year ago I have been producing drag with the help of venues like Kollectiv, The Coterie, The Music Workshop, The Folkestone Bookshop, and more. I identify as 'BFL- Back From London', but Folkestone really is my home. It’s where I grew up, explored my queerness for the first time, and now as a young adult it's where me and my partner live.
Since December last year, I've produced 5 shows with kollectiv. At their core, the focus of our shows is making them for everyone. That means keeping our casts inclusive, making them accessible, and keeping ticket prices as low as possible. Our shows run on a shoestring budget- the venue, performers and myself are paid out of ticket sales.
Our latest show, 'Sleaze, Gromit!' is hopefully going to be our biggest yet- but we can't do it without help. We are looking for £2966 which would cover:
Performers fees
Production fess
venue hire
marketing
costumes and props

We would love to offer a one day free family-friendly workshop to involve Folkestone people in making props for the show. With the show being close to Halloween, and using a theme of recognised British classic, we're hoping that it will reach a wider audience bringing the Folkestone community together.
If you've ever been a supporter of me or Kollectiv, or if you just really love drag, we need your help! Help us to keep creating low cost, high quality drag ❤️
