In Loving Memory of Sławomir Czajkowski

Hi, my name is Dominik Gutowski and my family is fundraising to try and help the family of my late uncle, Sławomir (“Sławek”) Czajkowski. We suddenly and tragically lost Sławek on Monday March 4th, 2024 at the young age of 47. Sławek is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Małgorzata (Margaret), his beloved children Kevin and Natalia, and his beloved foster children Daniel and Julia. While Margaret has the strong love and support of her immediate and extended families, such a loss is as difficult a burden to bear as any.

A bit about Sławek for those that did not personally know him. He was as kind, genuine, generous, and light-hearted as anybody you’ll ever meet. He would be the first and last person on the dance floor at family parties, and would be sure to pull you out of your chair and onto the dance floor if he saw you staying seated. If his kids or nieces or nephews were playing outside, he was always the first to pick up a football, baseball, or basketball, and prove that uncle Sławek still had enough in the tank to humble us kids when our egos got too big. He was always a willing and gracious host, going above and beyond to make sure you had everything you wanted or needed and more.

Sławek, whenever faced with a struggle in life, never let these battles define him, instead always reminding all of us kids that your response to negative circumstances is much more important than those situations and struggles themselves. He and his amazing wife Margaret brought in and cared for their foster kids Daniel and Julia, just like they loved and cared for their own, after Daniel and Julia tragically lost their own parents years ago. If you are not able to donate, we understand and hope you can at least apply some of the lessons that our beloved Sławek engrained in us into your own lives.

With usual expenses like their mortgage plus possible medical expenses looming, we are humbly requesting any possible assistance you can generously offer. We recognize that there are many, many worthwhile fundraisers for many worthwhile causes, and our family sincerely thanks you for your time and generosity. All funds will go to Slawek’s wife and children, to try and give them as much financial assistance as possible while they try to navigate this life without their beloved husband and father.
