This campaign is for my baby Brother, not so much a baby as he just turned 60 in July. Here is the guy you all know and love and on November 12th he was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer, yea I know major shock-he's a non-smoker. It all started about 3 weeks prior to that fateful day, he had been feeling more tired than usual, run down. Then his right side by his rib cage was hurting, he thought he had bruised it working. But it did not get better it got worse. His fiancé, Derri insisted he go to urgent care where they discovered his blood pressure was extremely high, they prescribed him meds and had him monitor his BP for about 4 days. Derri being the natural caregiver she is also tracked his heart rate, which they could not get below 100 bpm. She knew something was wrong, contacted the urgent care Doctor and he recommended Dave go to the ER. So the next morning on the 12th I took him to French Hospital. It was there that they discovered he had pneumonia. However they also found out the underlying reason for that was a tumor in his right lung.

As of today he has undergone to chemo treatments and his 3rd one will be today. So far so good he is handling the treatment well, they are administered once per week.  Each week he also receives a shot to boost his white cells, and once per week a blood test. He had a PET scan this week also. Results are not yet in.

Dave has insurance but it does not cover everything, and Derri has taken a leave from work (without pay) as they are not married, to care for him. We all felt this was in his best interest, with COVID spreading  the less interaction with outsiders the safer. His medical share of cost has hit like a tone of bricks and being close to the end of the year that share of cost (yearly out of pocket starts all over.) Expenses and everyday cost of living is beginning to overwhelm them. Stress can be an overwhelming and defeating factor when fighting a disease.

Full disclosure, Dave does not know this is being done, his pride would get in the way. I can only hope and wish that some of you will be willing to help him out, he has a long and hard battle to fight and I am asking that you be his warriors, with prayer and a donation. Thank you.

I would also like to take this time to give a shout out to French Hospital, they were amazing, in all Dave was there about 3 weeks and you could not ask for better or more compassionate care. 5 star, thank you all at French who were in my Brothers corner.
