Slater Fire Happy Camp, CA (Dan S.)

Hello everyone.  My name is Joe Stewart. I grew up in Happy Camp and earlier this week (9/8/2020) my father Dan Stewart lost his home in the Slater Fire in Happy Camp, CA on Indian Meadows Drive. He was able to escape the fire with just his truck, the clothes he was wearing and his beloved dog Shasta. He lost everything in the fire. Unfortunately his house did not have any fire coverage insurance, he will be starting over like most of the people in his community.  My father is a great man and loves his community. My father is also a single father to my three younger siblings. My father is a disabled person who barely at times makes it by. We are trying to raise anything we can for him to get him back to his land to rebuild and restart his life again when it is safe to do so. It would mean the world to my father, family, and myself to be able to get him back on his property and have shelter before winter.  Please ask any questions and I will get back to you.
