My little brother is currently “fighting for his life”. In 2010 my brother was diagnosed with Multiple
Myeloma. This is a rare cancer in the blood cells that accumulate in the bone marrow and as it progresses it spills out of the bone marrow and spreads throughout the body.
He successfully underwent a stem cell transplant in 2013 and is now due for his second and final transplant in June 2018.
He needs extensive dental work done before transplant to avoid infection and complications to his health. He has no dental insurance and is a single dad with a limited income due to his cancer.
He has been trying to do all this on his own so far but now needs a little help. Due to the progression of the cancer his bones are fragile and is unable to do hardly anything. He starts IV Chemo next week and will have 3 rounds before transplant.
He continues to amaze me with his positive attitude and his endless sense of humor. But I know this recent reoccurrence has devastated him.
Many of you know that we lost a precious and dear Sister to cancer a year ago. Needless to say, going through this with another sibling is heart wrenching.
