Slam Factory builds its 25-year Legacy

Donation protected
Slam Factory Indoor Skatepark has been part of the Central Coast riding community since 2001.

As Australia’s longest-running indoor skatepark approaches its 25th anniversary, we are launching the Slam Factory Legacy Project.

This Legacy Project is about stabilising the park now; improving the facility, and creating the foundations for a stronger future for the next generation of riders.

For 25 years, Slam has been more than ramps and rails.

It has been a place where kids found confidence, riders found community, families found connection and people of all ages found somewhere they could belong.

Scooters, skateboards, BMX, MTB, rollerskates and inline skates have all shared this space. First-timers have learned to roll in here. Young riders have grown up here. Old legends have carved their path here. Parents have embraced the journeys. Coaches, staff, volunteers, team riders and everyday families have all helped shape what Slam means.

Now we are asking the community to be part of Slam’s next chapter.

We are aiming for a goal of $100,000 but lets stretch that to $150,000!

That sounds big, but the Slam community is bigger.

1,000 people giving $100 reaches $100,000
2,000 people giving $50 reaches $100,000
4,000 people giving $25 reaches $100,000
10,000 people giving $10 reaches $100,000

Slam has had thousands of waivers completed just over the last two years and more than 14 thousand people following along on Instagram alone.

If everyone who cares about Slam gives something, this goal actually becomes possible.

Why Slam matters…

Indoor action-sports spaces are rare & they keep closing across Australia.

Slam Factory is now the last indoor skatepark of its kind open for over 200kms!

These parks are incredibly important for the people who use them. They are also expensive to run and difficult to maintain.

Slam gives riders somewhere supervised that's dry in the rain, shaded in the heat, social, strengths-based and progression-focused.

It gives young people a place to move, take supported risks, build resilience, make friends and be part of something positive.

For some riders, Slam is their sport.
For some, it is their social circle.
For some, it is where they find confidence and identity.
For some, it is the place that makes life feel lighter for a few hours.

Fame does not dictate the importance of your story. Those small moments of significance are powerful insights into the impact a community and safe space can have.

What your contribution will mean to the Legacy Project:

Funds raised through this campaign will help Slam build the foundations it needs now, including:

  • improving and maintaining the facility
  • stabilising day-to-day operations during this critical period
  • supporting safety, comfort and rider experience upgrades
  • strengthening booking, communication, staffing and admin systems
  • developing our capacity to provide accessible and affordable community programs
  • invigorate momentum around sessions, coaching, parties, camps and events
  • creating breathing room to move towards a more sustainable future
  • preparing for Slam’s 25th anniversary

We have the dreams, we have the plans, we've been quietly consulting the community behind the scenes.

Now we need your help to make this a reality.

The goal is not just to get through one hard moment.

The goal is to strengthen Slam Factory, to build a sustainable foundation so it can keep serving riders and families for years to come.

Legacy Wall Acknowledgement

As part of the 25th Anniversary Legacy Project, we are creating a Legacy Wall inside the park to thank the people who came together to support this campaign.*

This is Slam Factory's acknowledgement of the power that communities have; a visual reminder to those enjoying the park for years to come, that it was on the strength of the people coming together that the future of the park was secured.

*Named GoFundMe donors may be publicly identified on the Slam Factory Legacy Wall inside the park, unless they choose to donate anonymously.

It is not a prize, reward, sponsorship agreement, tax receipt, ownership interest or exchange of goods or services. It is a thank you.
