Hey! My name is Kael and I am an independent filmmaker that tells a variety of stories through film. As an independent, I often run into problems financing projects, especially once a project hits the post production (editing) phase. Most of the time, I end up financing the almost entirely out-of-pocket. This time, I'm hoping that the generosity of the future audience will help carry this film into fruition.
There a couple different expenses involved in the post production phase, mainly:
- licensing music
- color correction
- sound mixing
- film festival applications
With the funds, my plan is to have the film completed and ready to submit to film festivals in early December. More about the film is below:
In a gruelingly hot August of 2020, Jonathan "Jonny" Zaugg, a young mountaineer of Swiss heritage from Southwestern Colorado finally decided it was time to complete the mountain traverse route that has been in his dreams ever since he was a kid, the Sneffels Skyline. With over 40 miles of loose dangerous ridge lines, a complete lack of water, and serious isolation from anyone, sustaining an injury in the backcountry of the San Juans has life-threatening consequences. Diving into what true passion for our local mountains means, Jonny uses his six years of experience of climbing this particular and unique landscape to not only navigate the harrowing complexity of the climbing for himself but also draw attention on how to develop a sustainable healthy relationship with our alpine environments.
Any amount of contribution helps and is very appreciated! Contributors to the fund will receive a spot in the credits, and a special thank you gift dependent on the contribution amount!
