Skyler Miller Memorial Fund

Skyler, at the young age of 27, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep in the early morning of November 28, 2021. Anyone who met Skyler would see his vibrant smile that would light up a room. They would come to know his charming personality and silly sense of humor, his love of the planes he had the joy of working on and his intense love of cars, video gaming and just plain having fun!

Skyler was blessed with a beautiful son Atlas-who at 5 years old is a twin of his. Atlas has the same vibrant smile, looks and personality just like his dad. Atlas currently lives in Arizona with his mom, step-dad and new baby sister.

Skyler was set to leave the afternoon of 28 November, from Tampa, to return to work in Pensacola, FL where he was employed as an Non Destructive Inspector (NDI) for Vertex, a Navy contracted out company that performs inspections on the Blue Angels planes. His dream was to fly them but ensuring they were safe in the air made him so very proud. He truly found passion in working with these planes in his short life.

He was returning to work from a 6 month recovery period due to having his left lung removed. The surgery went well but it took a toll on his body over time, physically and mentally. The autopsy ruled his death accidental.

He was a strong individual who was always trying to help others. He had a love like no other for his dog Chewie- that dog was his best friend.

So many memories through pictures and stories will live on through all of us -friends and family.

While Skyler won’t be here to see his son grow up and be a part of his life - I know he will always be watching over Atlas.

We are asking that donations be made to Atlas in Skyler's honor for his future, whether it be college or whatever path truly makes him happy. In this manner, when Atlas comes of age, Skyler will have been able to provide- in some way for his future and always be a part of his life.

There will be a Celebration of Life held in Pittsburgh, Pa for Skyler on the 16th of July, 2022.
