Sadly today January 16th 2019 at 6pm skylar lost her battle with stage 4 brain cancer. She put up a fight even till the end. Her breathing tubes were removed at 315pm and she continued to beat the odds for almost 3hrs surrounded by her loved ones. So here it is....
June 14th of this year Skylar a fun loving 4yr old little girl was taken to the children's hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for an MRI as her walking and balance just didn't seem right and mothers intuition kicked in so her mother Jennifer would'nt stop until she got the answers for her baby. Never in her nightmares did she expect to hear what the DR would say next.... the results of the scan were not what Jennifer was expecting at all.......her baby girl has CANCER!! A diagnosis of stage 4 brain cancer or better known as metastatic medulloblastoma which affects the brain, spinal column among other parts of the body. In just the past 6 month alone Skylar has undergone close to 20 surgeries to remove the tumor and to put drains in to help with the fluid build up that keep occurring, unfortunately they've received even more bad news now all these months later, all the fighting Sky has been doing and now this!!!!!! Skylar now has brain damage and all of the treatments so far they've done just aren't working, Jennifer and family have contacted multiple other hospitals for 2nd opinions but they all say they'd be doing the same thing. So its coming to a point that a decision has to be made that no parent should have to make end especially at this time of year.
Jennifer is a single mother who works in retail and has exhausted all possible options for leave through the state of NJ!! In order for her to live, eat, pay bills all while trying to supply a somewhat normal life and christmas for her other child Luca she is forced to work close to 12hr days and cant be at the hospital all the time with her sick dying daughter in what could be some very crucial days!!!
