Hi everyone, my name is Jill, I am one of Heather's cousins. I wanted to thank everyone on behalf of Logan and Heather for all the prayers over sweet Skylar this week! And please KEEP THEM COMING! For those who are maybe seeing this and wondering "what happened", well in the wee hours of Monday morning Skylar was brought to Helen Devos Pediatric Intensive Care Unit from Holland Hospital by ambulance. Her oxygen levels were plummeting, she wasn't eating, and they suspected botulism. The medicine she needed was expedited from California and she received that late Monday evening! However in that time she was placed on a ventilator and feeding tube to help her be more comfortable and get her eating. They were told Skylar will likey remain at Helen Devos for two weeks. The doctors of course were also planning other tests that needed to be run to make sure Skylar has all the care she needs to fight this infection and make a full recovery. Thankfully, with all of that, Heather was able to share this most recent update below:

"God is good!! We received amazing news from the neurologist her MRI is normal and she expects her to make a full recovery, she might have to go home with a feeding tube temporarily just because she said it’s difficult to get them to feed again. She said skylar will most likely have to go to the neurologist in a month or so just to get checked but she said by then she’ll most likely be over the botulism! And she’s breathing OVER the ventilator most of the time!!"

That said, I know many are wondering how can we support them and help them during this difficult time, alongside our continued prayers. Well as I'm sure you can imagine with WONDERFUL medical care like Skylar is receiving, comes those large medical bills.
