Help me (skyla) get the surgery i need

Hello, my name is Skyla and I am a 6 month old American Akita. I am a very happy, loving girl and I am so happy to have been rescued by my new family. But the first few months of my life have not been easy ,this is my story…

At 5 months old I left my mum and brother to go to a new home but unfortunately my new home wasn’t secure and I managed to escape. It was then that I ran out into the road and was hit by a car which resulted in me having a fractured wrist. I was found and returned to my home but the man who was looking after me decided it was no longer safe for me to be there and had no choice but to find me a new home. This has been a very stressful experience as i have already been re homed twice in such a short amount of my life.
However, that’s when I met my new mum and dad who have given me a safe, warm and loving home. I am now settled and couldn’t be happier to be with my forever family but my leg is still broken and it’s still a long road to recovery. After several visits to the vets, they have said I am going to need to undergo surgery to ensure my wrist heals and repairs. The vets said I would potentially need to have surgery to repair my broken bones but they initially tried to mend my wrist using splints and bandages. The vets have been trying to repair my bones non-surgically for 4 weeks now but sadly this method has not been effective and we’ve been told that in order for my bones to heal correctly that I have no choice but to have surgery. This surgery is absolutely vital to my recovery as the break is next to my growth plate so without the surgery I would either have a bowed leg and my wrist would not work properly or I would need my leg amputating, which would lead to me having a debilitating life and would struggle to do the things I love such as going on walks and playing with my furry friends.
My mum and dad have already spent £1975 on vet bills to date with this amount increasing every week due to me having my splints and bandages changed weekly. They have been told by the vets that the cost of the surgery is expected to be between £2000 and £3000.My parents are only young and are trying their best to finance my treatment and medication. Any contributions you could make would be so greatly appreciated and if you aren’t able to contribute any money at this time, a share with your friends and family would mean the world to us as well love Skyla and my new family
