MY TESTIMONY --
Four days ago, I donated to a friend’s GoFundMe page for what I felt in my heart was a worthy cause. One day later, I was asked to join that cause. I hope this bit of background can help explain what I’m doing and why it matters. I have a history of job hopping, indecisiveness about continuing school, and getting easily distracted by the shine of things. Lately, this has caught up to me. I've felt a lack of direction and prayed for God to bring meaning and purpose into my life in a relevant way. God knows me all too well, because He gave me a sign that was entirely too obvious for me to ignore, even if I wanted to. It was the GoFundMe page.
The page that I spoke of earlier was for a mission’s trip that is a dance, surf, and fitness-based ongoing ministry for children of… get this, THE PHILIPPINES. (I will be teaming up with Sodium Dance Company & Hope For The Island). I had never been on a missions trip, but I could definitely relate. The donation I made to it was a small amount in the grand scheme of things, but I believe God was simply testing my heart. He planned for me to offer much more than my money. Immediately after I made the donation, my friend extended an invitation for me to join the mission. They had exactly one more opening for a male missionary.
That was God telling me that this was the answer to my prayers and so, I took a leap of faith and booked the trip. If you know me even in the slightest, you know this trip incorporates everything I am passionate about, connected to, and searching for- dancing, surfing, fitness, ministry, culture, and travel. Ever since I said yes to God three days ago, all aspects of the mission, from my plane ticket to my work’s approval, have fallen into place. There is just one last star that I trust God will align in all of this, but I have to do my part- the finances. My trip is from August 21st-September 4th in Siargao, and September 4th-6th in Manila. I have less than a month to fundraise toward my goal, and whether you can offer prayers or donations, they are all greatly appreciated! Any amount goes a long way. The money will go towards my travel expenses, lodging, and basic necessities while on the mission. I will be creating a recap video of my trip soon after I return home, to share the love & experience of God's work! Thank you and God Bless!
