Skye has been a Scout at 1st Bistre Scouts, Buckley for 3 years and is now continuing her Scouting journey with Blaze Explorer Unit at Penyffordd. She has gained confidence, made so many amazing friends and is learning new skills for life everyday. She has camped, hiked, been on many expeditions, is trained in 1st response First Aid and is even working towards her RYA sailing certificate Level 4.
She's also become a Young Leader at Penyffordd Beavers and gives up a lot of her time to help out and help organise things.
A few weeks ago Skye attended a Scouts International Camp selection weekend in stormy Swansea and came back muddy but overflowing with excitement.
We're so proud to say that she has been chosen to represent the Wales Contingent with just 70 other Scouts and Explorers from all over Wales at the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Gdansk, Poland taking place in 2027!!
It's a massive opportunity to travel and meet up with 40,000 other Scouts from all over the world. She is going to be hard at work over the next 15 months attending prep camps, getting to know her new team and doing a lot of fundraising to raise the £3500
to make the trip happen and have this once in a lifetime experience.
She works so hard at school and Scouts and is part of lots of groups that advocate for looking after each other so we know she'll be a great addition to the Wales Contingent and it's an adventure that will stay with her forever ❤️
