Skye Thomas-Medical Expenses

My 20-year-old niece, Skye Thomas, had a couple of seizures early this year. An MRI revealed that she has multiple cavernous malformations on her brain, with at least one causing the grand mal seizures. A few months ago, she started anti-seizure medication and consulted with a Neurosurgeon about the possibility of brain surgery in a few months, depending on how she responded to the medication. During this time, she has been restricted from driving but was able to go back to work part-time.

Over the last few weeks, her seizures have significantly increased in frequency, despite taking the anti-seizure medication. Skye's Neurologist instructed her not to work for at least a month due to having had seizures at work. Skye will be seeing a specialist at Mayo Clinic in MN September 16th to discuss options of treatment, which include the possibility of brain surgery. 

Thankfully, Skye does have health insurance through her job, but she is paying for it monthly out of pocket without having an income. This fundraiser is to help cover the cost of her monthly health insurance premiums along with outstanding medical expenses that she has already incurred and future medical expenses beyond what insurance will cover, with her upcoming appointments.
