Skydiving for Kerry Hospice in Memory of Noreen O’ Shea
Hi, my name is Shauna, and together with my mom, Doreen, we’re taking on a skydive to raise vital funds for Kerry Hospice’s Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital Kerry (UHK).
This cause is incredibly close to our hearts. In June of this year, we lost our beloved Nan/Mom, Noreen to Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. In her final days, she was under the incredible care of the palliative care team at UHK and also the staff of Muckross Ward and we will forever be grateful for the compassion, dignity, and support they gave her—and us—during such a difficult time.
The kindness and professionalism of the staff went beyond anything we could have hoped for. They made sure she was comfortable, respected, and surrounded by love right to the very end. We saw firsthand how essential their work is, and now we want to give something back.
That’s why we’re doing something a little bit mad—jumping out of a plane! But every foot we fall will be for something much bigger: helping other families receive the same incredible care we did.
If you can, please donate whatever you can. Every euro will go directly to Kerry Hospice, (split between palliative care and also Muckross ward staff) helping to provide palliative care for others in their time of greatest need.
Thank you so much for your support.
With love,
Shauna & Doreen
