Skydive for Muscular Dystrophy UK
Myself and Beth have decided to do a skydive on the 11th of June, for Muscular Dystrophy UK. My brother Jordan has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy ( DMD). Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a serious condition that causes progressive muscle weakness. Due to the lack of the dystrophin protein, muscle fibres break down and are replaced by fibrous and or fatty tissue causing the muscle to weaken gradually. No cure has yet been discovered, but there is promising research into the condition. Once boys get into their 20s their muscles are severely weakened and this affects their hearts and lungs. This in turn will eventually stop working. Their life prognosis is late 20's. Any little donation will help towards this cause and can be put towards research into medicine and family support for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me. More information about Muscular Dystrophy UK: Muscular Dystrophy UK is the leading UK charity focusing on muscular dystrophy and other related conditions. We are dedicated to beating muscular dystrophy and other related conditions by finding treatments and cures and to improving the lives of everyone affected by them.
