Sky Valley Crag Cleanup, Hardware, Route Updates
Donation protected
The main purpose here is to collect funds for various crag cleanup activities, route hardware, and route-guide updates in the Skykomish Valley of Washington. But we also want to distribute some climbing route updates in a new topo guide. You are welcome to download the latter without contributing money, though we hope you can at least get out and climb some of the routes. Even better, help maintain them.
Some funds collected here will be given to previous route developers to partly offset the cost of their many previous anchor installations at the crags in the linked topo guide. Also, given the success of the “brush station” installed at Hag Crag at Index, we would like to leave a few other stations near routes that require regular maintenance. One such station is a little less than $20 in raw materials, though it takes some time to put together and install. A new anchor can run anywhere from about $10 to $25, depending on the construction. Of course, tools for cleanup and installation wear out and also cost money.
For the topo guide, we have collected new route information for the Lookout Point area of Index and made a route guide update at the following links. Feel free to download the files, but please do not post their links, or a link to this page, on any social media (e.g., Facebook). After climbing or trying one of the routes, you are welcome to post them on Mountain Project and on that page post one of the following links for the reader needing more info.
1) Part A: Introduction to the areas and trails. Includes Planet Index and Halloween.

3) Part C: Some photos that show the routes. (Will be added soon. Please check back.)
As a reminder, please do not post any links to this page on Facebook. We understand such a restriction will reduce the funds generated. However, we made this fundraiser for experienced climbers who can understand and agree with its purpose.
If you contribute, feel free to suggest a purpose for the funds. We will try to honor them, but give no promises. If you don’t contribute, that’s fine. We hope you can enjoy the routes as so many others have and can help keep the crags clean, quiet, and generally welcoming to others.
