Hello my name is Conor and back in January 2019 my cousin Abbi was diagnosed with an Astrocytoma Glioma - a tumour on the left side of her brain. Since then she has had surgery on it twice; one of these being awake and the tumour being donated to a London hospital for them to research upon… unfortunately they can’t remove the whole tumour and she has undergone different treatments on what is left of it. Chemotherapy - Temozolomide & PCV - however these both stopped working meaning radiotherapy was her final treatment option. Abbi has recently undergone a full course of radiotherapy however the results of the treatment were not the results that we as a family hoped for as this was not effective. This sadly means that all treatment options for Abbi’s tumour and recovery have been exhausted and she has now been moved to palliative care at the age of 31.
Despite this, Abbi is an inspiration to all, the way she handles such adversity in her life and faces it head on remaining as positive as can be, never complaining despite the long list of awful symptoms and side effects of this illness she faces daily. Abbi is keen to raise as much awareness and funds for this cause and has an upcoming evening event 26th July.
This is the reason I have chosen to complete this skydive on 19th July, to raise both awareness and funds that will all be donated to the neurology department at James Cook University Hospital who have provided outstanding care and support for Abbi throughout her illness. Please dig deep and donate towards making change for the many other people battling this illness.
Some of the funds will be used to cover part of the cost of the skydive, however I will also be contributing 50% of the skydive fee towards the cause.
Abbi has also documented her journey on an instagram page, feel free to take a look.

**UPDATE - due to weather and being rained off skydive will now be the 2nd August**
Thank you
