37977438_1555014487203455_r.jpeg      The Sky album will be the sixth album of original work I've independently recorded, but with this one I hope to print it on vinyl, finally merging two deep passions in my life.  I'm currently in the studio finishing the tracks with expected release around August, 2019.

37977438_1555014584119064_r.jpeg          I've written every lyric, and played every instrument...bass, guitar, percussion and keyboards, as I've done with previous releases. Granted at times friends sat in and filled in parts. JP and I have layered tracks and mixed these songs into an album I'm really proud of and I think you will be too.
I'm not sure how you found your way here to this crowdfunding...it could be my decades in the Central New York music scene, or maybe it was my radio show, The Wax Museum with Ronnie Dark. This summer the Wack Pack will be celebrating 10 years on the air, on what we call, 'The Home for Lost and Wayward Vinyl'.  So, it's only fitting that this album comes out for the anniversary.  https://www.facebook.com/WaxMuseumwithRonnieDark/
So what are we funding?? No, not another guitar!

We are keeping the expenses down, way down...as the main goal is to bring the vinyl record to life.  The songs on the Sky album were all written in the period between 2010-2015 and I've been in the studio with JP from Dungeon Recording Studios for the last 6 months or so.

All of the recording and mix should be done by May, 2019.  Here's a simple breakdown:
Keep in mind that all of the recording as well as The Wax Museum Radio Show with Ronnie Dark are self-funded. Your contributions will off-set the expenses I've already paid up.
Printing the record- $2,500
Mastering- $400
Album cover/label artwork- $200
Shipping-$300

As you can see, I've been recording original music for over two decades, these songs can be found on youtube.  The Sky album will be my second to last. After this release, I'll complete an album of Surf music and see where the road leads from there.

I've had the privilege to work with so many talented musicians, good friends and diverse groups ranging from original music bands like the Brethren and Darkroom to great cover bands that have keep audiences all over Central New York dancing and getting out, even on our famously snowy and bitter winter nights. Each band has been unique and I've grown from every experience.  These experiences began early, as I'm lucky that my greatest guitar influence is my own dad. We play together in a band called Dan Elliot and the Monterays, which happens to be the longest running band in Syracuse.

I recently spent some time  listening to my Dad working out his lead solo parts to my song "Redemption Song." His solo will be the icing on an already great cake in my honest opinion. My first recording demos were for my Father when I was 13 and it will be an honor to have him on this amazing project- Sky.       If you're reading this, I can't thank you enough for your faith in the music, the radio show and this amazing project.   Here are some songs from previous recordings that show a variety of styles.  Some Surf music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgO9eySn-2s That's How it Goes- from Songs From the Gray Room https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7x55-viP_lc Birds- from the band the Brethren https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wyzn6qE55Pg Kitty Bartender- from Irkville Road https://youtu.be/mEMcOz2wn3Q I knew it Would Rain- From Homeless, Hungry, Broke and Ugly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJ4uOOLk69U We Tried Our Best- Songs from the Gray Room https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCDxmu2OYo8 Ronnie live-Devil Woman https://youtu.be/DNlu6aiqfos Ronnie live- Working Man https://youtu.be/062-zfOozEc

Well, folks - Its hard to believe but it's true. The test pressings of the Sky album are in the mail and awaiting my review. It's been an amazing last few months. I didn't believe we could crowd fund an album and of somebody would have told me a few years ago that I'd have this, I never would have believed it.

Your support has meant the world to me.

I'm excited to see how the record does, but even more pleased to find my way back to loving being a musician and sharing my talent with all of you.

If you've donated over $35, you will be receiving a first pressing of Sky. Think about it- it's not just a record, but a dream come true. There's still time to help me meet my fundraising goal, and het yourself a copy of Sky.

After this project, I hope to put out my collection of surf music, Seaweed. I'll also dig through my back catalogue to re-release some of those tunes. I'm posting, this one, Bye Bye, for you to enjoy.

Again, thanks!! Head on over to the donate tab, if your inclined and add a few more bucks to the album.

Either way, I'm eternally grateful for your donations, and overall support of this incredible endeavor.

With huge thanks to those who have already donated, we are soon wrapping up fundraising for Sky Album.

Our last step to vinyl is to make final list of those donors who contributed $100 or more and will have their name listed as associate producer on the album back jacket. If that sounds cool to you, and you've got the $$$ don't hesitate to tally up if you want to see your name. I'm going to submit artwork shortly. Message me (cristinafurlong@yahoo.com) or Ron if you're going to commit so we can include you. Thanks a hundred! Or thanks a million.

We are about 60% funded now, and things are going great. The big, exciting news is that the first single has been released. Whatever Happened to My Blue Sky has already seen airplay at WKOR, on This is Rock and Roll Radio, as well as the Wax Museum with Ronnie Dark. We're super excited to hear it on local airwaves this Friday, May 17th in the noon block on Local Lunch on Rebel Radio. Here's a link. Be sure to check out all the tunes on Soundcloud. Thanks so much for supporting this effort. https://soundcloud.com/ronniedark/whatever-happened-to-my-blue-sky
