Medical bills

This is my adorable hubby Dan, my guy for close to  40 years now and this is the start of a new journey in our lives.
It all started on a lovely August day, then my husband Dan found that he had blood in his urine.
The day was no longer lovely.
He headed straight to his doctor and told me later as he didn’t want to concern me while I was at work. Skipping ahead several months, after more appointments, and a CT scan it was determined that he has a tumor the size of a billiard ball in his bladder and it must come out.
That surgery is now complete.
The tumor was much bigger than first anticipated.
Next about a month later was another CT scan, labs and a full day meeting with oncologists at OHSU’s oncology center.
Decisions have been made, we now plow ahead
The fight is on!
Please give us strength.

Many people know Dan and know what kind of a man he is.
The old saying of knowing someone who would give you the shirt off their back if you were in need is the epitome of who he is, he truly is one of the most selfless people I have ever known.
He is a helper, he has made me into a helper, as a general rule we are not askers but I am now asking.
We need help to tackle this new chapter in our life.

This is a part of a letter he sent to his family and will help people understand him.

“All prayers are Welcome and encouraged. Always!
I need you to understand!
I Love living!
BUT I have No fear of death. Knowing that nothing can be done to deserve Gods grace except to ask, and promise to try to model my life after Jesus, and accepting Him as my Lord.  God has given me grace.
In my life, I have failed in spectacular ways, and while I know that God continues to grant me grace, I beg of anyone I have hurt for forgiveness.
Not to lift my burden of any wrong, but, that in that forgiveness you can get rid of the weight of anger or resentment.
As a part of Gods plan, whatever that may be, I know that I’ll be here on this earth for as long as He needs me here and not one second more.
So I ask that your prayers be for strength for Brenda and the kids as they put up with me.
I ask you to pray, that in whatever plan God has for my life here, that the people I come in contact with would somehow be drawn closer to God. That God would be made More real to them. I pray that in whatever way that is, it would be SOO ridiculous that they would Know that it could only be from God.
To that end, my life here, is forfeit.
I can only love as much as I know how to love, and as inadequate as that is, I love you with everything that I am.”

I have faith that god will meet our needs medically, financially, spiritually and emotionally but I am asking for support and prayers for our family to help us meet this challenge.
All proceeds will go to medical bills and any proceeds over the amount we are asking for will be donated to the Union Gospel Mission in Portland, Oregon.
(Dans dad preached there at times in the ‘70’s)

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
Thank you so much in advance if you are able to help even if the only help you can give is to pray for healing or to share this story.

Blessing to all, and much love Brenda

What We All Want~

Someone who accepts us and loves us for who we truly are, without reservation, while expecting only to be allowed to support us in becoming the best human being we can possibly be;
and, trusting and hoping, that that is all they want, or expect, in return.

It's what we All want.
But if we can't do that, how can we hope for that?
