Hello,
My name is Kate Livson and I teach Forensic Biology at San Leandro High School.

This year, I am teaching 150 students how to solve crimes using biology.  What a fantastic way to engage young people in science - by linking science to questions of identity, social justice and the criminal justice system!

Teaching high school is hard. Students come to me with all sorts of difficulties ranging from abuse, homelessness, bullying and abandonment. I am overwhelmed everyday by my students' generosity, competence and hard work. They deserve the best education I can provide.

I am asking for support to purchase this amazing set of 6 skulls  , 3 female and 3 male, which will give my students access to hands on tools that teach them to differentiate between race and sex when assessing skulls.

I want my students to be able to look at a skull and know the sex and geographic ancestry of that person.  Not only because this is good science, but also because it is an excellent way for my students to explore their own identity, heritage, and appearance. But guess what? I don't even have any female skulls!

So, please support me and my students with these amazing skulls. (Please note: this project is not available for Donors Choose because no Donors Choose vendors sell them *sigh*)

Thank you!
