OL Slaton has been trying to build its cheerleading program for the past couple of years. We believe that it is a great opportunity for the girls to learn about teamwork, leadership and grow into the best people that they can be. #ThankATeacher
However, due to our population neither the school nor the families have the financial means to take these girls to LoneStar Cheer Camp.
Going to cheerleading camp offers the following:
Basic Skills
Safety training for the girls & coaches
New cheers/chants/dances
Pep Rally Set Up
Stunting
The biggest assest of the camp is safety training for the coaches so that as the girls learn new skills they will be safe.
The camp is $150/girl and free for up to 2 coaches to get trained. The camp will take place in town. (Lubbock, Tx)
The camp will take place in July 2016, however we would like to have the money raised by May 20th, 2016.
We have not held tryouts yet, however last year we had about 12 girls on the squad. If we raise more money then I will look into supplying the girls with meals for the camp as well as camp attire to truely feel like a squad.
Update: Since tryouts we have 13 girls on the squad. This has raised our goal. Please continue to share our fundraiser and help us get to cheer camp. A deposit for the camp will be made in the following week. (4-8-16)
Update: Paid the $390 deposit yesterday for the camp. Girls are working hard to get their own donations... $75 so far. I'm so proud of them for finding their own way to contribute to this. Uniform fitting date is set! Can't wait to see them all at camp! (4-27-16)
