Meet Skout, our beautiful Indian Blue pied peacock who has recently suffered a serious leg injury. As a team of dedicated volunteers, we stepped in immediately to ensure he got the medical attention he deserved.

Diagnostic X-rays have confirmed a fibular fracture. For a bird as heavy and active as a peacock, this is a life-altering injury. Without help, he would lose his ability to forage, protect himself, or even stand.

Skout is a fighter, like his dad Louis. He is currently alert and eating, but he has a long road ahead. He is on a strict medical regimen including Metacam, Tramadol, and specialized pain management to keep him comfortable while his bone knits back together. Because he is currently off-balance, he requires 24/7 monitoring and a specialized "hospital" environment to prevent further injury.
