Expand My Capabilities

Hi, my name is Skotti and I'm an artist. One of the things I love most about art is not only learning new things, but then in turn sharing my knowledge with others. To that end, I've tried my best to do streams of my art along with recording my work so it can be uploaded and watched later, but I've begun hitting a bottleneck. Simply put, most computers aren't equipped up to run Photoshop AND power a Cintiq AND record 1080p video AND either compress and stream that video or record it to the hard drive for later editing. On top of that, even when I do manage to juggle everything and make recordings, editing and rendering them for upload to YouTube or other sites can tie up my work computer for hours. But instead of simply buying a newer, faster, more powerful laptop, I'm going to try and work smarter rather than harder.

With your help, I'd like to buy a new computer specifically to run things like my recording/broadcasting app's server program, Final Cut Pro, and other processor-intensive apps that are necessary for sharing my art but don't necessarily need to be run directly on my main computer. Thanks to some cool features embedded in Mac OS, I won't even need a monitor or a keyboard or a mouse or anything, just the core computer and a small square of desk space to plunk it down in. If I get this, I'll be able to stream more often and record more videos for YouTube without my work computer being locked up for hours at a time, keeping me from being able to do more work. So you guys get more streaming and more videos, and I get to be more productive. Everyone wins, right?

Ideally, I'd like to get this running by the end of May so I can put things together and get them running in time for my inevitable "holy crap it's hot out, I'm staying where there's AC!" drawing sprees. The faster I raise the money, though, the sooner I can buy what I need and put it to work.
