Get Skip to The Mayo Clinic

Who would have known that five years ago a simple fall from a ladder would change Skip's life forever. The day after the fall a small blood clot appeared behind his knee. The "small" clot has turned into being treated with coumadin, blood thinner shots and 11 surgeries in 18 months...the current path of treatment has proven unsuccessful and the doctors say they can no longer help him and this is his "new normal".  With over 20 current clots he stands here today without a diagnosis, a plan, or answers.  Why don't blood thinners work on him?  Why does he not bruise?   Why when the doctor goes inside his veins and busts up the clots, do they come back worse than before? The answers are at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN? That's the next step... they've been contacted by the clinic, where their only hope remains,  but there is a $5000 deposit JUST to get an appointment, not including travel expenses. Now that he is on disability, Amy supports their family as a real estate agent but sadly there is very little left after the bills every month and. It has been 5 years since this began and his strength to do every day normal activities are becoming harder and harder.  If you know Skip, you know he is always the first to offer help and never ask for anything in return.  I want to do all I can to help Amy and Skip get to Minnesota to see these doctors and get him healthy again.
