Hello,

My name is Michael Ilac, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my loyal companion, Skipper. Skipper is a four-year-old German Shepherd and Great Pyrenees mix, and he’s been a source of joy and comfort in our lives. Unfortunately, back in February Skipper suffered a serious injury: he tore the ligaments in right back leg.

We have taken him to the vet and they were unsure of what happened then but suspected a Canine Cruiciate Ligament Tear. With conservative management while he started to improve and get better, but it was still very noticeable that he was limping and in pain. Now his other leg thats been carrying all his weight is taking a toll. Just recently it has gotten significantly worse than it was before and he seems to be going downhill fast.

The road to recovery is going to be challenging and expensive. Due to his size (110 lb) he needs the most invasive surgery called TPLO which is only performed by specialized vet othopedic surgeons. We’re looking at vet visits, 1-2 surgeries, and a lot of rehabilitation to get him back on his paws. The surgery itself would cost $3,800 per leg at the minimum. Any support you can provide will make a huge difference in helping Skipper heal and return to his happy, active self.
