Skip Baker - Heart Recovery

Hi, my name is Amanda. I’ve created this page on behalf of my father and his recovery. On August 6th Skip suffered a severe ‘Type A - Aortic Dissection’ which required an emergency open heart surgery. This was a 10 hour surgery through Sunday night, ending around 7am Monday. Due to the severity of the repair, he has been in the Cardiovascular ICU since. It’s unclear how much longer he will be in the ICU before being transferred to inpatient care, and eventually home care.

My dad is the strongest man I know, but we know his road to recovery will be long. We wanted to start this gofundme not necessarily as a “goal” of funds to raise, but more as a place for people to contribute to his home recovery if they would like.

When Skip comes home from the hospital we will use any donations to help him follow the recovery aftercare. This includes a specific dietary meal plan, retrofitting his living area, assisted care, and anything else to make him more mobile and comfortable.

We absolutely appreciate everything, but most of all, simply keep him in your thoughts and prayers. ❤️
