I'm Alexandra, a skimo athlete from Montréal, Canada. Four years ago I picked up a pair of skis for the first time and this year I'm reaching out for help to attend the ski mountaineering World championships in Boi Taull, Spain. See below for cost details.

I learned how to ski in 2019. The following winter I started skinning up a local ski resort in Sutton, Québec for fitness.

On my third season on skis I figured I like going uphill and signed up for a first skimo race in Québec (Stoneham, QC.) and a month later I was racing at Steep Dream (Golden, B.C.) at the North American circuit. I wrapped up my third season on skis with the Canada Cup race in Jasper, AB.

This year will be my fourth winter skiing and my second one racing skimo. I'm committed to racing on the Canada Cup circuit and my early season results at the Castle mountain (Pincher creek AB) race at our Skimo Canada training camp in Golden B.C. qualified me for the World Championship in Boi Taull (Spain). Unfortunately, skimo in Canada is not funded enough to help support athletes cover the costs to travel to international competitions, and this is why I am reaching out to my community for help.

I wouldn't be here without the immense help from my coach Kylee, Vélo Café (Magog), friends that help me during training and your endless support (strava, a simple hi on the skin track, social media messages) when I share about long training sessions, objectives and achievements. You propelled me here!

I wish I had savings and this would not be a concern for me, but I'm still a grad student at the moment, so covering cost is a major concern and any help is greatly appreciated!

je suis une athlète de ski mountaineering (skimo) de Montréal. Je me tourne vers ma communauté pour trouver le support financier dont j'ai besoin pour participer!
