Skillman Family Fire
Donation protected
One of Wonder Weims most dedicated foster/volunteer families has suffered a devastating loss. On Saturday March 23rd Tom and Christine Skillman's home caught fire around 1pm. Tom,
No one from the family was home at the time the fire occurred. Unfortunately Luna, (1 year old blue Weimaraner) Oliver, (Weimaraner mix ) and Joey a 14 year old silver Weimarer, who were all adopted from Wonder Weims, were home.
Luna was in her crate when firefighters arrived, the fireman used all available techniques to save her life, unfortunately Luna did not survive. Oliver was in the yard (they have a dog door) a passerby grabbed him and brought him to the neighbors home for safety while 911 was called.
Joey was revived after taking in quite a bit of smoke and was taken to Webster Groves Animal Hospital for treatment. He did suffer from smoke inhalation and hair burns.
The Skillman family has lost most of all their belongings due to fire and smoke damage. They are devastated by the loss of their home and memories but most importantly… the loss of Luna.
We are asking you to support the Skillman family in this difficult as they start a new life and new memories.
Thank you
