Skibbo has been a healthy, mobile cat for all ten years I have known him. On July 30 at about 2:00 PM, I found him in our garage, completely paralyzed from the waist down.
The doctor suspects that it's a slipped disc in his spine and recommended euthanasia. His hind legs and tail are completely limp, and he can no longer go to the bathroom on his own. But without a proper diagnosis, contacting a neurologist and considering our other options, we may never know.
The time has come for me to trust my instincts. There is no one else I can rely on. There are no guarantees here. I could spend every dollar in the world and he may still not survive. But even if he doesn't, I'd rather spend thousands and thousands of dollars walking this path to its end in vain than give up before even trying.
The funds collected here will all go towards an MRI to see what's wrong with him. Whatever lies beyond that depends entirely on what they can glean from it, so I'll update you all when I can.
Skibbo is the sun shining on my face. He is my light, my hope. Please don't let my hope die.
