Ski na Rua

Ski na Rua (skinarua.org) is an NGO aimed at teaching low income youth in a slum neighborhood (favela) in São Paulo to cross-country ski on pavement. It has evolved into an organization that provides much more than athletics. This organization has given meaning and purpose to the lives of kids who are overlooked. From an inception with four students to what could soon be an international program, Ski na Rua embodies the wealth of opportunities when communities refuse to live by outside expectations.
